Shape of Thought

Shape of Thought explores the connection between the mind and the natural world through a series of paintings and ceramic sculptures.
Observing the detail and structure of plants as a mindfulness activity is part of Dyer's practice; to her the repetition of leaves or buds stemming from a branch is not dissimilar to the structure of her mind and how the trajectory of her thoughts might be shaped.
Contrasting textures denote the passage of time, a reminder of the transience of all things, including thought and feeling. The "blahs" iterate the mind's ceaseless content, playfully acknowledging the challenge of being mindful.
