Darby St Community Garden Mural

In 2014 I was invited by Mark Tisdell, Director of MUD Landscape Design to be coordinating artist for the Darby Street Community Garden art mural.

Local residents and visitors of Darby Street were invited to help paint a mural on the fence on the site of the community garden prior to its construction. The aim was to involve the local community and initiate a sense of ownership and inclusion in the space, as they were not able to take part in its construction. The concept was kept simple to allow for participants of all ages and abilities, which included young children.

The completed work provides a vibrant backdrop to the garden which won the AILDM National Landscape Design

Award for Pro Bono ‘Best in Category’ & ‘Gold Award’ in 2016.
